Columns

Choose the columns shown in your report tables, reorder them and save column sets for yourself or for the whole team.

Large Fullmetrix tables, such as the list of orders or products, can show far more information than fits on screen. The Columns button lets you pick which ones to see and in which order. A column choice saved under a name is called a column set.

Where the Columns button is

The Columns button sits above the table, on the right, next to the export button. It is available in the Orders, Products, Variations, Categories, Brands, Characteristics, Suppliers, Customers, Coupons, Refunds and Carts reports.

The button shows the name of the current set. It simply says Columns while you use the default view.

Switch between views

Click Columns. The list first offers two views provided by Fullmetrix.

  • Default shows the essential columns of the table.
  • All fields shows every available column. The table gets wide, so scroll it horizontally.

Next come the sets created in your organization, then Customize, which opens set management. A check mark shows the current view.

Create a column set

Open set management

Click Columns, then Customize. The Column sets window opens. On the left, the list of your sets. On the right, the editing area.

If you have no set yet, the right side shows Custom column sets and the Create a new column set button.

Name the set

Click New set. Type a name in the Column set name field, for example "Shipping follow-up" or "Accounting".

Choose who can use it

The switch between Just me and Whole team decides visibility. With Just me, only you see this set. With Whole team, every member of the organization finds it in their Columns menu.

Add the columns

Under Columns, click the dropdown that shows how many columns are chosen, for example "6/24 columns selected". Type in Search a column… or browse the sections, such as Main, Amounts, Billing, Payment, Dates and Store. Click a column to add or remove it.

The Metadata section holds the custom fields specific to your store, when it sends any.

Arrange the columns

The chosen columns show under the list, in the order they will appear in the table, from left to right. The up and down arrows move a column. The cross removes it.

Save

Click Save. The Column set saved message confirms it, and the table switches to this set right away. The button stays grayed out while the set has no name or no column.

Edit or delete a set

Open Columns, then Customize. In the list on the left, each set shows its visibility and column count, for example "Just me · 8 columns". Click a set to edit it, change what you need, then click Save.

To delete a set, open it and click the trash icon at the bottom left. Deletion is immediate and asks for no confirmation. The Column set deleted message appears.

The arrow at the top left of the editing area goes back to the list without saving.

What Fullmetrix remembers

The chosen set is remembered in your browser, separately for each type of table. You can therefore keep an "Accounting" set on orders and the default view on products. The sets themselves are saved in your organization and follow you on all your devices.

Columns and exports

When you export a table, the export offers the columns of your current set by default. So prepare your set before exporting. You can still adjust the columns in the export window. Exports are described in full in Exports.

Sort a table

Click a column header to sort the table by that column. A second click reverses the order. Only columns that allow it can be sorted. The others have a plain header that does nothing when clicked.
