Product feeds
Create a feed of your catalog for Google Shopping, Meta, TikTok or ChatGPT Ads, choose which products go in and give its address to the platform.
A product feed is a file that lists your store's products with their title, price, photo, stock and link. Advertising platforms read it to show your products in their Shopping ads and catalogs. Without a feed, Google Shopping or a Meta catalog campaign has nothing to show.
Fullmetrix builds this file from the products we sync from your store. You get a permanent web address. You paste it once into the platform, which then reads the file again on its own schedule. The file follows your catalog without you exporting anything again.
To open the page, in the sidebar, open Product feeds in the Tools group. The entry only appears once a store is connected.
Supported platforms
| Platform | File format | Specifics |
|---|---|---|
| Google Shopping | XML | Google category field available in the advanced options. |
| Meta / Facebook | XML | A variation's title uses the parent product name. |
| TikTok Ads | XML | A variation's title uses the parent product name. |
| ChatGPT Ads | CSV | A brand is required to save the feed. |
In every feed, each variation (size, color, format) is a line linked to its parent product, so the platform can group them.
Create one feed per platform and, if needed, one feed per country or language. You can have several feeds for the same platform, for example one for the whole store and one limited to your best sellers.
Read the feed list
With no feed yet, the page shows No product feed with a Create a feed button.
Once you have feeds, each one appears as a card. At the top of the page, the Product feeds title sits next to the New feed button.
Each card shows the following.
- A cover image taken from your products, with a platform badge in the top left.
- The feed name.
- The number of products included, for example 248 products, or No products.
- The last time the file was generated, or Never generated if no platform has read it yet.
- Two buttons, Preview and Edit.
The date turns orange, with a warning icon, when the file hasn't been generated for more than 24 hours. This usually means no platform has come to read it. Check that the address is saved in the platform.
When you hover over a card, two buttons appear in the top right. The circular arrow regenerates the file right away, which also updates the product count and the date. The three dots open a menu.
| Menu action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Copy URL | Copies the file address to paste into the platform. The URL copied message confirms it. |
| Open file | Opens the raw file in a new tab. |
| Duplicate | Creates a new feed with the same settings and the (copie) suffix in its name. |
| Delete | Deletes the feed after confirmation. |
Create a feed step by step
Click New feed. The New product feed window opens. The settings are on the left, and a live preview on a real product from your store is on the right.
Name the feed and choose the platform
In the General section, fill in Feed name, for example "Google Shopping US". Under Platform, click Google Shopping, Meta / Facebook, TikTok Ads or ChatGPT Ads. The name is only there to help you find the feed in Fullmetrix.

Build the title and description
The Content templates section decides the text sent for each product. By default, the Title uses the product name, {name}, and the Description uses the short description, {short_description}. See the variables section below to enrich these texts.
Choose the products included
The Filtering section limits the feed to part of the catalog. By default, all your sellable products are included, except drafts, products without an image and products without a price. The filters are detailed below.
Add custom labels if needed
The Dynamic custom labels section tags your products so you can group them in your campaigns. This step is optional.
Check the advanced options
Click Advanced options to set the country, currency, language, brand and identifiers. For a ChatGPT Ads feed, fill in at least the Brand.
Create the feed
Click Create feed. The card appears in the list. All that's left is to give its address to the platform.
Write the title and description with variables
A variable is a word in braces, such as {name}, that Fullmetrix replaces with each product's value. You can mix fixed text and variables. For example, the title {brand} {name} {variation_attributes} gives "Trekko Hiking boot 42" for a variation.
To insert a variable, click Variable above the field, search for it and click it. It is inserted at the cursor position. Below the field, the Render line shows the result on a real product.
| Group | Variables offered |
|---|---|
| Content | Product name, Short description, Long description, URL slug, Product URL, Parent product name |
| Identifiers | SKU, Brand |
| Pricing | Current price, Regular price, Sale price |
| Catalog | Category, Tags, Weight, Stock status, Variation attributes |
| Attributes | Your product attributes, such as color or size |
| Raw data | The other fields received from your store |
A good feed title starts with what shoppers type into the search engine. Add the brand, the product type and the variation.
Choose the products included
The Filtering section offers several filters that add up. A product must pass all of them to enter the feed.
- Feed source only appears if several stores are connected. Choose one store, or All connected stores. Changing store clears the category and tag selection.
- Product categories limits the feed to some categories. Open the list, search for a category and tick one or more. The number of products in each category shows on the right. Clear all brings you back to All categories.
- Product tags limits the feed to some tags. This filter only appears for WooCommerce stores, the only platform whose product tags we sync.
- Product segment limits the feed to the products of a product segment you created. It only appears if you have at least one product segment. To create one, read Segments.
The Quality filters block removes products that platforms often reject.
| Checkbox | Ticked by default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Exclude drafts and private products | Yes | Removes products that aren't published on the store. |
| Exclude out of stock products | No | Removes products with no stock. Useful if you don't want to pay for clicks on an unavailable product. |
| Exclude products without image | Yes | Removes products without a photo. A variation without a photo keeps its parent product's photo. |
| Exclude products without price | Yes | Removes products whose price is empty or zero. |
Keep the default boxes ticked unless you have a specific reason. Google and Meta reject a product without an image or a price.
Tag products with custom labels
Custom labels are five free fields, from custom_label_0 to custom_label_4, that Google, Meta and TikTok let you fill in. You then use them in the platform to group products, for example to create a "bestseller" product group with its own budget.
Fullmetrix fills these fields from your sales data, which your store doesn't have. Each line of the Dynamic custom labels section matches one field and contains two elements.
- A Default value field, applied to every product no rule catches. It accepts variables, such as
{category_name}. - An Add a rule button.
Open the rule editor
On the line of the label you want, click Add a rule. The New label rule window opens.
Enter the value
In Label value, type the text the matching products will get, for example bestseller.
Define the condition
Start from one of the Suggestions, or choose under Condition between Custom filters and Existing segment. With Custom filters, click Add a filter and build the condition as you would in a segment. With Existing segment, choose one of your product segments.
Add the rule
Click Add rule. It appears on the label line with its value and condition.
The four suggestions prefill the value and the condition.
| Suggestion | Products matched | Suggested value |
|---|---|---|
| Bestsellers (top 10% revenue, 30 d) | The 10% of products with the most revenue over 30 days. | bestseller |
| Slow movers (no sales in 60 d) | Products with no sale in 60 days or never sold. | slow-mover |
| New arrivals (under 30 d) | Products created less than 30 days ago. | new-arrival |
| On sale | Products that have a sale price. | on-sale |
One label can have several rules. They are evaluated in order and the first match wins. Use the arrows to change the order, the pencil to edit a rule and the trash icon to delete it. When you edit an existing feed, each rule shows how many products it tags.
Rules based on sales are recalculated with your data. A product that stops selling well loses the bestseller label without any action on your part.
Set the advanced options
Click Advanced options to expand these settings. They open on their own when an existing feed uses one of them.
| Setting | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Country | The sales country the feed targets. France by default. |
| Currency | The price currency. Euro by default. Fullmetrix doesn't convert prices, so choose your store's currency. |
| Language | The language of the texts. French by default. |
| Condition | The condition of the products, New, Refurbished or Used. |
| ID prefix and ID suffix | Text added before or after each product's identifier. Use them so the feed identifiers match your pixel's, for example gla_. The preview shows the result under Catalog ID. |
| Google category | The category number from the Google taxonomy, for example 1604. Only shown for Google Shopping. |
| Brand | The field that holds the brand. Required for ChatGPT Ads. |
| GTIN / EAN and MPN | The fields that hold the barcode and the manufacturer part number. |
| Color, Size, Material | The fields that describe these attributes, useful for fashion and furniture. |
| Gender and Age group | A fixed value applied to the whole feed, or Not specified. |
The Brand, GTIN / EAN, MPN, Color, Size and Material fields open a list of choices.
- Automatic lets Fullmetrix find the most likely field.
- Product fields lists the standard fields, such as Brand, Manufacturer, EAN, GTIN, UPC or SKU.
- Attributes lists your product attributes.
- Raw data lists the other fields received from your store.
- Fixed value applies the same text to every product. Type it and click Apply. This is handy if you only sell one brand.
If you save a ChatGPT Ads feed without a brand, Fullmetrix blocks the save, opens the advanced options and shows "A brand is required for a ChatGPT feed. Pick a field or enter a fixed value."
Follow the live preview
The right panel of the window shows Live preview and the card of a real product from your store, as the feed will describe it. It uses your title, your description, the price, the condition, the catalog ID and the category. Click Another product to pick another one at random.
If no store is connected, the panel shows No product available and Connect a store to see the preview. This panel only appears on a wide screen.
Give the feed address to the platform
Copy the address
On the feed card, open the three-dot menu and click Copy URL. The address ends in .xml, or .csv for ChatGPT Ads.
Add it in the platform
In Google Merchant Center, Meta Commerce Manager, the TikTok catalog or the ChatGPT Ads merchant area, add a product source by URL, often called a scheduled fetch. Paste the address. No username or password is required.
Choose the fetch frequency
Set a daily fetch in the platform. Each fetch gets the current state of your catalog.
Keep this address to yourself
Anyone who knows the address can read the file. Don't publish it. If it has been shared, duplicate the feed, use the new feed's address and delete the old one.
Check the content with the preview
Click Preview on a card, or click its image. The Feed preview window shows at the top the total number of products and the number of samples shown.
For each product, the card shows the photos, a Product or Variation badge, the price and the struck-through price during a promotion, the stock (In stock, Out of stock or Backorder), the condition, then the SKU, brand, color, size, material and category when they exist. The View product page link opens the product on your store.
Browse with the arrows, the shuffle button or the thumbnails at the bottom of the window.
An orange block lists the warnings for the product shown. These products stay in the feed, but the platform may reject them or classify them poorly.
| Warning | What it flags | How to fix it |
|---|---|---|
| No image | No photo. | Add a photo in your store. |
| No price | Empty price. | Fill in the price in your store. |
| No brand | Brand not found. | Choose the right field in Brand, or a fixed value. |
| No description | Description missing or under 10 characters. | Change the description template or complete the product page. |
| No category | Product without a category. | Assign the product to a category in your store. |
| Short title | Title under 15 characters. | Enrich the title template with the brand or the variation. |
| No GTIN/EAN | Barcode not found. | Choose the right field in GTIN / EAN. |
If the window shows No product in this feed, your filters exclude the whole catalog. Click Edit and loosen the Filtering section.
Edit, duplicate or delete a feed
Click Edit to reopen the window, titled Edit feed, then click Save. The address doesn't change, and the platform reads the new version on its next visit. You have nothing to redo on its side.
Duplicate is useful to adapt a feed, for example for another country. The new feed has its own address, which you need to add in the platform.
Delete opens the Delete feed confirmation. Once confirmed, the address stops working immediately. The platform will report an error on its next fetch, so remove the source on its side too.
Data freshness
The file is built when the platform asks for it, from the latest data synced from your store. It is then kept for one hour to respond quickly. A change to your feed settings applies right away. A price or stock change in your store appears in the file once synced, within the following hour.
To force an update, hover over the card and click the circular arrow. The Feed refreshed message confirms it. To understand your store's sync schedule, read How synchronization works.
