Forms and surveys
Learn what forms and surveys are for, what to connect before you start and where to find them in Fullmetrix.
Forms and surveys appear directly on your store. They collect information from your visitors and customers without any external tool.
A form collects contact details. For example, a window that offers 10% off in exchange for an email address, or a window on an out-of-stock product page that offers to notify the visitor when the product is back. Everyone who fills in a form becomes a contact in Fullmetrix, with their consent and the tags you chose.
A survey asks your buyers one or more questions, usually right after their order. The most common question is "How did you hear about us?". Answers are linked to the order, so you can compare them between new and returning customers.
Where to find them in the app
Both pages sit in the Marketing group of the sidebar.
- Forms is always visible.
- Surveys is visible as long as at least one of your active stores is not on Shopify. If all your stores run on Shopify, the entry does not appear.
What to set up before you start
Connect your store
Forms rely on your store to know where to appear and, if you want, to generate unique discount codes. Surveys rely on your orders. If you have not done it yet, follow Connect your store.
Turn on site tracking
Popup and Flyout forms and surveys reach your store through the Fullmetrix tracking script. Check that it is active in Settings, then Tracking. The Site tracking page explains how to install and check it.
Connect WhatsApp for back in stock
A Back in stock form collects phone numbers. The message that alerts the customer is then sent by a WhatsApp automation. Without WhatsApp connected and an active automation, sign-ups are saved but nobody is notified. Read WhatsApp Business, then WhatsApp automations.
When to use which
Use a form when you want to grow your contact list. Sign-ups land in All contacts with their tags, and you can then group them in a segment.
Use a survey when you want to understand your buyers. For example, to learn what share of new customers came through word of mouth, or to measure satisfaction with a 0 to 10 rating.
