Digests

Schedule your key figures to be sent automatically by email or to Slack, every day, week or month.

A digest is a short report that Fullmetrix sends on its own, at the time you choose. It holds your key metrics, such as revenue, orders or average order value, compared with a reference period. You receive it by email, in a Slack channel, or both, without opening Fullmetrix.

Use a digest, for example, to get last week's results every Monday morning, or to share yesterday's sales with the whole team every day.

Open it from the sidebar, in the Tools group, with the Digests entry.

Before you start

A digest calculates its figures from your store orders. You need at least one connected and synchronized store. See the quickstart.

To send to Slack, first connect Slack and choose the channels allowed to receive digests. Open Settings, Integrations, then the Slack card. The details are in Slack. Without this connection, the Slack option stays greyed out in the creation wizard.

Create a digest

Click New digest. A window opens with a five-step wizard, Name, Recipients, Schedule, Content and Preview. The Continue button saves each step and moves to the next one. Previous goes back without losing anything.

Name

Enter the Digest name, for example "Weekly report". This name helps you find it in the list.

The Email subject (optional) field sets the subject of the email. Leave it empty and Fullmetrix builds the subject from your organization name and the period covered.

Recipients

Choose where to send the digest. Two switches are available, Email and Slack. You can turn on both.

With Email, choose the Email recipients.

  • Entire team sends the digest to every member with access to this organization. The list follows new arrivals and departures automatically.
  • Select recipients lets you tick members one by one.
  • The [email protected] field and the Add button add an outside address, for example your accountant or a business partner.

With Slack, tick one or more Slack channels. Only the channels chosen in the Slack integration settings appear here.

You need at least one recipient to continue.

Schedule

This step sets when the digest is sent and which data it uses.

Stores picks the stores included. By default, All stores is ticked and so is every store. To narrow the digest, untick the stores to leave out. It then only uses data from the stores that remain ticked. To go back to all of them, tick All stores again. Only stores whose first synchronization is complete are listed. If none is, No ready store is shown.

Frequency offers Daily, Weekly and Monthly.

  • For weekly, choose the Day of week.
  • For monthly, choose the Day of month, from 1 to 28. These days exist in every month.

Send time sets the time of sending. The default is 9 a.m.

Data period sets how much time the figures cover, 1 day, 7 days, 30 days or 90 days. The period always ends the day before sending. A 7-day digest sent on a Monday therefore covers the previous Monday to Sunday.

Comparison sets the reference for the changes.

  • Previous period compares with the period of the same length immediately before it. The last 7 days are compared with the 7 days before them.
  • Previous year compares with the same dates one year earlier. This choice removes seasonal effects.

Content

Tick the KPIs to include. At least one metric is required.

MetricWhat it measures
RevenueRevenue for the period, based on your report settings
OrdersThe number of orders
Average order valueThe average amount of an order
Items soldThe total number of items sold
Items / orderThe average number of items per order
New customersCustomers who placed their first order during the period
RefundsThe number of refunds
Refunded amountThe total amount refunded

Figures follow the same rules as your reports, with the excluded statuses, net sales deductions and ignored customers set in Report settings.

Preview

The Email preview shows the digest as your recipients will receive it. The Summary block sums up your choices, with recipients, schedule, stores and the number of selected KPIs.

Check everything, then click Save. The Digest created message confirms it.

Each step is saved as soon as you click Continue. If you close the window halfway, the digest stays in the list with the Incomplete status. It is not sent while it lacks a name, a recipient, a frequency or a metric.

Manage your digests

The list shows one digest per row. The Search... field filters by name.

ColumnWhat it shows
NameThe digest name, with its Active or Incomplete status
PlatformsThe delivery channels, Email, Slack or both
RecipientsEntire team and the number of added addresses
FrequencyDaily, Weekly or Monthly
ActionsSend now, edit, delete

An Active digest is sent automatically on schedule. An Incomplete digest is waiting to be finished. Open it with Edit to complete the missing step.

Send a digest right away

The Send now button, shaped like a paper plane in the Actions column, sends the digest immediately to all its recipients, without waiting for the next scheduled time. Digest sent confirms it.

Use it to check the layout after creating a digest, or to share the figures before a meeting. The usual schedule then carries on as normal.

Edit a digest

Click the pencil icon, Edit. The wizard opens on Edit digest. When editing, you can click any step directly in the left column. Save with Save on the last step.

Delete a digest

Click the bin icon, Delete, then confirm in the Delete digest window. Deletion is permanent. The digest and its schedule disappear.

What recipients receive

By email, the digest shows your organization name, the period covered and one card per metric. Each card shows the value for the period and its change against the chosen comparison. In Slack, the same content is posted in each selected channel.

The digest is written in the interface language of the person who created it.

To send detailed lists rather than metrics, for example the list of this week's orders, use a recurring export instead.
