Dates
Set the start of your fiscal year, the first day of the week and the time format, and learn which date each order is attached to.
The Dates tab gathers your organization's calendar settings. It matters mostly if your financial year does not start on January 1, if your week starts on a day other than Monday, or if you prefer reading times in 12-hour format.
To open it, click Settings in the sidebar, then the Dates tab. The page has one card, Date configuration.
Each field is saved as soon as you pick a value. There is no Save button. If saving fails, the message Error saving settings appears.
The timezone, which decides where each day starts, is not set here but in the General tab.
Fiscal year start
The fiscal year is the twelve-month period your business uses for its accounts. Many businesses start it on January 1, others on April 1 or July 1.
In Fiscal year start, pick the month in the first list and the day in the second. Days go from 1 to 28, so the date exists in every month of the year.
This setting defines the periods of your goals. An annual goal covers the fiscal year, and a quarterly goal covers one of the four three-month quarters starting from this date. With a start on April 1, the first quarter runs from April to June and the annual goal from April to March. Monthly goals always follow calendar months.
Fiscal week start
In Fiscal week start, pick the day that opens your week, from Monday to Sunday. Monday is the default.
This day sets the order of the sales by day of week charts, on the detail pages of a product, customer, category, brand, supplier, characteristic and coupon. With Sunday, these charts start with Sunday. To find these pages, read Detail pages.
Time format
In Time format, pick 24h (14:30) or 12h (2:30 PM). The format applies to times shown in the WhatsApp section, such as message times in the chat, campaign scheduling and sending times, and automation creation dates.
Which date orders and customers are attached to
The Order date filter, Customer date filter, Store start date and Fiscal month start (day) fields store your preferences, but they do not change your reports yet. Here is how dates are calculated today, whatever their setting.
An order is always attached to its creation date in your store. An order created on April 30 and paid on May 2 therefore counts in April sales, even if Payment date or Completion date is picked in Order date filter.
A customer counts as new on the date of their first order, even if Account creation is picked in Customer date filter.
The months in your reports follow the calendar, from the 1st to the last day of the month.
Why the creation date
The creation date is the only one every platform provides for every order. It is also the one most store admins use by default in their statistics, which makes comparison easier.
